Duct Cleaning

The Beginning Process

When our crew arrives at your home, there are two important steps that must be completed before we begin. The first step is to run the central system. This allows us to foresee any problems that may occur. After that is complete the workers will begin to place drop clothes on the floor and cover the furniture with plastic. This is an extra precaution to protect your flooring and furniture. Some furniture may have to be temporarily moved but it will be put back upon completion of the job. After these two steps are complete the unit will be shut off and cleaned.

The Blower Motor

The blower is dissembled and removed from the unit. After it’s taken out we use an EPA registered solvent to clean and sanitize this system. When the job is completed the blower is placed back into the A/C system and tested.

The Evaporator Coil

The coil is cleaned in place by air washing any debris into the HEPA Negative Air Machine. This is important because your coil is the cooling system of your unit. This is where condensation is created and that is where mold is able to grow.

The Supply Grills

An IAQ SERVICES technician will take down each register and clean those with an EPA registered cleaner. All supply grills are cleaned and sanitized, paint is available if needed.

The Return

The return begins by your filter grill and ends at the blower. We recommend that you use a high quality filter to collect any debris that can congest your system. IAQ SERVICES starts by removing and cleaning the return grill. During this process we will check the return air to make sure it is sealed and air tight.

The Plenum

This is located on the supply side of the evaporator coil. The plenum is the distribution box for the ducts connecting to each room. When we clean the plenum we must first create an access hole. These are cut 10” or 12” diameter. The plenum holds the highest concentration of mold because of the condensation formed around the coil. IAQ SERVICES will attach the HEPA negative air vacuum to your plenum. The technician will then seal all the holes with an insulated metal patch.

The Ducts

While under negative pressure each duct is individual scrubbed, air washed, and sanitized.

The Register Boxes

If mold is present there is a fungicidal coating available.

The Clean-up

After completing a job IAQ SERVICES will pick-up all drop cloths and any trash that has accumulated on the job site. After we will vacuum, sweep and replace all Items interrupted during the process. Our mission is to leave a home in a better condition then when we arrived. Upon completion the unit is inspected for proper operation.
