This is our Recommendation for a Professional Duct Cleaning !
PREPARATION
Before the start of any job, the systems proper operations are
checked. Drop cloths are placed in areas where debris may fall,
in order to protect your belongings. Some furniture may be
temporarily shifted, but will be replaced upon completion of the
job.
RETURN
The return is where air enters the filter grill to be cleaned and conditioned. This is considered to be the dustiest section of your duct system. On average 80% of all return air shafts are not sealed properly, in most cases dirty humid air enters your home through the wall cavities and attic. We seal and air lock the return shafts with duckboard and mastic.
BLOWER
The blower unit is used in the heating and cooling cycles year round, by moving air through the ducts. First, we remove the blower from the furnace or air handler, then remove the motor from the blower and chemically clean the blower with water. We then air wash the motor and wiped it down with a sanitizer including the motor leads and wires. Your blower is then reassembled and reinstalled.
EVAPORATOR COIL
The evaporator coil, in most cases, is cleaned in place with a non acid chemical. In some cases when the evaporator coil is extremely dirty, it must be removed for pressure washing. Once we are sure that your evaporator coil has been cleaned properly it is then reinstalled.
SUPPLY AIR PLENUM
The air located in the supply air plenum contains the highest level of moisture. It is also where conditions are most favorable for mold growth and colonization, which can then be spread throughout your duct system.
REGISTERS AND GRILLS
The registers in your home direct the airflow to each room. Each register will be removed and cleaned with an EPA registered cleaner. When needed, we will apply white enamel paint to restore them to factory condition before reinstalling each register..
DUCTS
There are many different types of ducts, some are sheet metal, round pipe externally insulated, flex duct, rectangle sheet metal duct internally insulated and some externally insulated. All of these types of ducts can be cleaned and sanitized. Ducts that are internally insulated are resurfaced with a Foster 40/20 protective coating. Flex ducts can be cleaned and sanitized unless they are heavily contaminated with mold or if the integrity of the duct has been compromised.
REGISTER BOXES
All register boxes are HEPA vacuumed and sanitized. If your register box is internally insulated they will then be resurfaced with Foster 40/20.
CLEAN-UP PROCESS
Upon completion the unit is inspected for proper operation. IAQ SERVICES then picks-up all drop cloths and any other debris that has accumulated on the job site. After, we vacuum, sweep and replace all items shifted during the process. Our mission is to leave a home in a better condition then when we arrived.
